Prince Rupert Library Board Meeting Minutes

September 24, 2014

Present:

Helen Moore (HM), Tim MacDonald (TM), Peter Maksymyszyn (PM), Dale White (DW), Glenn Groulx (GG), Brent Patriquin (BP), Lauren Williams (LW), Devlin Fernandes (DF), Joe Zelwietro (JZ) Chief Librarian

Meeting commenced at 7:05 pm.

• Agenda passed (motion PM, seconded HM, passed)
• Board accepted the minutes of June 25 meeting with one amendment. The minutes will be changed to reflect that LW was present at the June 25 meeting. (motion HM, seconded BP, passed)
• Introduction of new trustees
• JZ will send relevant documents to all trustees (Collective Agreement, Community Enhancement Grant application, PR Library policy manual and web-link to BC Library Act)
• There were preliminary discussions about upcoming Collective Agreement negotiations and services of a consultant.
• Financial discussion. Trustees discussed importance of donations, pros and cons of fines, Community Enhancement Grant and upcoming budget proposal to City Council.
• Discussion of DVD policy and Internet usage policy. The Chief Librarian will continue policy direction and continue to keep trustees informed.
