Adrienne tells us that she had the honour and privledge of previewing the book Itamae - In Front of my Cutting Board by Avi Sternberg, famed local chef, and that inspired her to make this origami inspired evening bag. We hope to acquire the book when it comes out later this year, but for the moment we've paired it with The Beauty of Japan by Nakayama Kaneyoshi.

10. Tunisian Crochet Lace Shawlette & Shawl Pin by Leah Cuthbert

Leah stumbled into Tunisian crochet in the past year and has been astounded by the variety of stitches that can be created. Tunisian Crochet is a cross between knitting and crochet, with the best of both worlds. This shawlette was designed to tie at the shoulder hence it's non-traditional right triangle shape. It took about 30 hours to make and $42.00 worth of hand painted merino wool. A great book to check out is Get Hooked on Tunisian Crochet by Sheryl Thies. (Special thanks to Mercedes for agreeing to model this one!)

12. Handmade Marble Coaster Set by Lonnie Wishart

This handmade marble coaster set has a different local photo on each coaster, created by Lonnie Wishart. Nice and heavy, they won't move with your tea cup, even if you jolt the table reading something scary! Lonnie says her major inspiration is Freeman Patterson, so we've paired her coasters with that author's Photography of Natural Things.
