Joan knit this hat using merino and nylon fleece from New Zealand and handspun and dyed wool from Smithers.  The driftwood button was obtained on a kayak trip to Bonilla Island.  The hat took 10 hours to create and the materials were $11.00. Library staff chose Kayak Routes of the Pacific Northwest Coast by Peter McGee to accompany Joan's creation.
