The Prince Rupert Marine Rescue Society is a volunteer, non-profit charity whose mission is the saving of life at sea - and now on inland rivers and lakes as well.

In 1988 the Society purchased a 23 foot rigid hulled inflatable for use as a fully dedicated fast response search and rescue vessel. The "Rainbow Responder" has performed over 200 search and rescue missions since then.

Recently an 18 foot aluminum craft was purchased by the Society for inshore rescue with the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP).

The Society is always looking for new volunteers. Members regularly train in various aspects of Search and Rescue, coastal navigation, first-aid and boat handling skills. Interested parties can contact:
