Pacific Mist Chorus is Prince Rupert's chapter of the Sweet Adelines international organization. It is the purpose of each Sweet Adelines chapter to teach and perform the art of four-part harmony, barbershop-style and to encourage a universal appreciation of the tradition of that music. A unique characteristic of barbershop music is the locking and ringing of a musical chord and it is that ringing that makes hairs stand on end.

Here in Prince Rupert we are very fortunate to have an extremely talented and dedicated Director, Debbie Redman, who is also our founding member. She comes from a family background of barbershop music and, luckily for us, is more than happy to share her talents and wealth of musical knowledge.

Throughout the year we can be found in and around the community, singing for someone on a birthday, anniversary or on Valentine's Day. At Christmas time we will sing at different functions and every so often we will put together a show for the public to enjoy. These singouts serve as fundraisers for the costs involved in travelling to our regional competitions held annually. This is yet another opportunity for the wonderful musical education available to members of Sweet Adelines

Our Chorus meets once a week, on Monday nights at 7:30 p.m., in the basement of the United Church, 636-6th Avenue West. We are always looking for new members and encourage any woman with a love for singing to come out and join us for a truly fun-filled learning experience.

Please contact Beverly Mark for more information or to book the Chorus for a performance or singing telegram. (At least one week notice is desired, preferably longer.)
