The Prince Rupert Public Library will be closing temporarily to help limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The best scientific advisors as well as our municipal, provincial and federal representatives have firmly asked that we all do what we can to help each other by minimizing exposure risk. We are closing our physical facility to help our community. We understand and regret the disruption that this closure will cause people, but we will still provide digital and telephone services to our patrons.

The “Library Items” return bin outside the library will be closed. Keep your materials at home until the library reopens. Overdue fines will be waived. Update: As of June 1st, the book bin is now open, and we are now providing curbside pickup service. Details here.

Details about this will be available online, through social media and our website, in the coming few days.

Thank you for understanding,

Joe Zelwietro
