This is a Japanese 'Boro' inspired piece. Boro is an ancient tradition of placing raw-edged fabric over damaged fabric holding it in place with fancy stitches; the modern version of this practice is sometimes called slow stitching. Colored threads, beads, ribbons and such stuff have been added to complete this piece.
