32. Flannel Lap Quilt by Trish Banighen

Trish Banighen: Flannel Lap Quilt: cozy quilt in “man-friendly” colours, reminiscent of fall, reading or watching sports, country living and time at the cabin. Trish has included a parody of the classic “Goodnight Moon”: “Goodnight Trump” for the lucky bidder’s reading pleasure. Paired with “Complete Guide to Building Log Homes”.

31. Japanese-Fabric Pillows by Trish Banighen

Trish Banighen: Japanese-Fabric Pillows: once again, Trish has generously made gorgeous pillows from the fabric bequeathed to her by the late Jean Clerihue. She chose to feature the exotic lush print as whole image. We have paired the pillows with “The Beauty of Japan” as the beloved cranes feature large in Japanese design and culture.

30. Pioneer Dolls by Trish Banighen

Trish Banighen: Pioneer Dolls: beautiful handmade dolls lovingly made by using recycled fabrics and scraps from formal wear, party favours, antique handkerchiefs etc. The hair was made from threads trimmed from unraveled edges. These dolls are not suitable as playthings for children; they are suitable for display as collectibles. Such old-fashioned dolls recall “ The World of Little House” about the life and writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

29. Egyptian-Fabric Pieced Table Runner by Sandra Duffus

Sandra Duffus: Egyptian-Fabric Pieced Table Runner: spectacular pieced 43” table runner, carefully pieced to get repeats of the design. Sandra found it challenging and time consuming, but fun. It took her around 27 hours to create, the materials cost around $45 and she would like a minimum bid of $60. Even the backing material is gorgeous. Her chosen book is the classic whodunit “Death on the Nile” by Agatha Christie.

28. Kids Cotton Tote Bags for Books or Treasure

Leah Cuthbert: Kids Cotton Tote Bags for Books or Treasure: Leah, a beloved, long-time employee at the library, and crafter extraordinaire, now living in the Shushwap area, sent us this collection of kids’ book bags. We set these two aside for the auction. Auction separately. Paired with the DVD “Finding Nemo.”

27. Stroller or Crib-sized Baby Blanket by Laurie Kilner

Laurie Kilner: Stroller or Crib Size Baby Blanket: in a lovely soft blue, with an unusual variation on the classic seed stitch, made of soft, washable acrylic. Laurie, a self-named “Senior of Prince Rupert”, would like a minimum bid of $20.00. She would also like people to know that she accepts orders and donates the proceeds to Charity. 26. Tuques with Pom Poms made by Mary Bond and donated by Sean Brown

Sean Brown: Tuques With Pompons by Mary Bond: More beautiful knitting by Mary; one hat has cables in a plush, bulky yarn in Light Avocado, which is 50% superwash wool and 50% nylon; The cream-coloured hat is similar in style but the yarn is 70% wool, 5% polyamide and 25% acrylic. Both require 15 hours to make, the yarn costs $25.00 and they retail for $32.50. Auction separately. Paired with “Interweave Knits Magazine: Winter 2018 issue.”

Chris Jack: Reversible Cloth Tote Bags: stylish eco-friendly carrying bags. One is made of an Outdoor Ultra Fibre cotton in muted Ukrainian Thistle, with an interior cotton in Squash Blossom; the other is a Raised Weave Canvas in a Mondrian pattern; with a pale peach cotton interior. These bags take 5 hours to create, at a cost of $20 in materials and retail for around $30.
