Dolly Harasym: Squash, Preserves and Garlic: Dolly and Alan grew the Pink Banana (yup that’s what it’s called”, the garlic and the other fruits and vegetables in the preserves, except for the wild bog cranberries, which they gathered. It doesn’t get more local than this! Dolly loves the children’s book “The Mare’s Egg” (which she is lending for display, not giving)about a naive young immigrant to the New World, a shyster and a pumpkin. Dolly and Allan (and their friends) can attest that even if the Pink Banana doesn’t emulate the pumpkin in the story, it’s delicious any way you wish to cook it. These are all truly “Gifts From the Garden”. The time and money invested in this generous donation are pretty much unquantifiable.
