"Service Above Self"

Rotary International, with 1.2 million members, is one of the world's largest service organizations. One difference between Rotary and other service clubs is that membership is by invitation. Candidates must be sponsored by existing Rotarians.

Rotary clubs seek out a cross-section of their community's business, vocational and professional groups. Hard working, community-minded people are always in demand!

"Service Above Self"

A prospective member is invited as a guest to a weekly luncheon, with the inviter picking up the cost.  If you don't know any Rotarians, simply contact the Club Secretary, Don Seidel, (tel: 624-6193, e-mail: flanders@citytel.net) for details.

If a good match exists, a sponsoring Rotarian completes a nomination form, which is approved by the Club Executive. Applications for membership are announced at the weekly luncheon and approved by the general membership. Afterwards, candidates are inducted in the Club, make a "who's who" speech (talking about their past experiences) and enrolled in Club committees.

Members are expected to attend weekly luncheons on a regular basis, participate in club fundraising events (e.g. flipping hamburgers, helping at the Rotary Auction, selling Christmas trees) and have lots of fun.
