Deep-Time Tsimshian Relationships with Coastal Ecosystems

Join us as we dive into deep-time ecological relationships and knowledge of the Ts'msyen (Tsimshian) people that have lived with and helped shape the coast we reside on. We will discuss Ts'msyen conceptions of ecological stewardship, the spiritual morals and values around harvesting in a coastal ecosystem, and how certain methods of Ts'msyen harvesting create abundance and biodiversity. We will share insights into how we might take some of these ancestral lessons into our own backyard and relate better to the ecosystem we are a part of.
