Getting Around
Here is a short list of transportation means and providers serving Prince Rupert:
- Taxi Services: Road, Water
- City Bus Service: BC Transit (operated by Pacific Western) Routes 53 - Crestview* and 60 - Port Edward* serve the library, and route 51 - Seal Cove* is within walking distance. For other routes, we are about a 10 minute walk from the major downtown bus stop at Ocean Centre.
- Regional Shuttle Van Services: SG Shuttle (service between Highliner Hotel and Terrace (Skeena Mall and Northwest Regional Airport))
- Regional Bus Services: BC Bus North (also operated by Pacific Western), Northern Health Connections (eligibility criteria apply)
- Rail Service: Jasper to Prince Rupert train operated by VIA Rail (formerly a named train, the Skeena)
- Local Ferry Services: Spirit of Lax Kw'alaams, Digby Island Ferry, West Coast Launch (Dodge Cove), North Co-Corp (Metlakatla, Oona River, Kitkatla, Hartley Bay)
- Regional Ferry Services: BC Ferries, Alaska Marine Highway
- Seaplane Services: Inland Air Charters (provides scheduled service to Masset on Graham Island (Haida Gwaii)), Ocean Pacific Air
- Airline Service: Air Canada Express (operated by Jazz Aviation) offers scheduled flights between Prince Rupert Airport (YPR) and Vancouver International Airport (YVR).
* - The placement of the Public Library on the maps of these routes and several of the other maps is not accurate as of July 12, 2019. We have notified BC Transit of this. The library is on the southwest corner of 6th Avenue and McBride Street (Yellowhead Highway 16), the address being 101 6th Avenue West.
