37. Pictorial Wall Hanging by Ellen Witherly
Ellen Witherly: Pictorial Wall Hanging: From a scene in the book “Our Lady of the Lost and Found” by award-winning Canadian Diane Schoemperlen. What do a black squirrel with one white ear and a woman appearing in front of the fig tree in the living room have in common? Find out by reading the book! The wall hanging depicts the scene when Mary appears. Yes, that’s right, Mary Mother of Jesus. Oh, and by the way, she is tired and would like to stay for a week. Book included with the hanging. Accompanied by “This Is Not My Life”, the author's memoir.
36. Seuss-inspired Baby Quilt by Sue Sullivan
Sue Sullivan: Seuss-inspired Baby Quilt. Cotton front and back, really cute, bright and lively with a “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish” motif and a pieced back with a super-fun complimentary fabric. It took Sue about 10 hours to make (she's quick!) and cost around $80. Paired with********** you guessed it.
34. Basket of Home Preserves by Laura Esposito
Laura Esposito: Basket of Home Preserves With 3 Hand-knit Cotton Dishcloths: Preserving food has been part of Laura's life since early childhood, with her mother and nonna (grandmother). Knowing the ingredients and their provenance is part of the pleasure: the beets are from Fraser Lake, the crab-apples from Smithers and the zucchini and peppers from Penticton, all from friends. Buon appetito! The Sunset “Home Canning” is only one of the library's many books on the subject.
33. Full-size Quilt and Book by Diann Morneau
Diann Morneau: Full-size Quilt and Book: 60’X 60” patchwork quilt in fall colours, backed with soft plum plush fabric for extra coziness, accompanied by seasonal heart-warming stories: this is all about comfort and warmth. Diann’s mother Patricia Lovegren started the quilt and Diann has lovingly finished it since her mother died. Patricia, after raising her children and retiring from her long-time job at Safeway, devoted the rest of her life to volunteering in Kitimat, at the Legion, the Seniors’, the Salvation Army and the Library Board. Paired with “A Cup of Comfort for a Better World” that celebrates “those who give, care and volunteer.”
